FAQs

WHAT IS “screaming pigeon”?

Screaming Pigeon is a unique and intense variation of the traditional Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana). It combines deep hip opening with a dynamic vocal release, creating an expressive and cathartic experience. This pose is often taught in classes focused on emotional release and is popular in more expressive or alternative yoga styles.

Screaming Pigeon is both a pose and an ideology, perfectly capturing the bold and expressive vibe of our studio, where we embrace the unconventional and encourage self-expression. The pose symbolizes our commitment to creating a space where you can push your limits, release what’s holding you back, and connect deeply with yourself.

Join us to experience the liberating and transformative power of this practice and, perhaps, one day, the pose itself!

I'm unsure of my yoga experience level. Will I be comfortable in any class?

Absolutely! Our classes are crafted to be dynamic and inclusive, making sure yogis of all experience levels feel at home, and supported. Classes are designed to challenge and support students, with modifications and variations to suit your unique vibe.

Whether you're a hardcore yogi or just dipping your toes in… you'll find the confidence and community you need to embrace the journey, push your limits, and unleash your inner Screaming Pigeon!

ARE WAlk-ins welcome?

While drop-ins are welcome if there's space, we highly recommend signing up in advance, as the studio capacity maxes at 24. Registering ahead of time guarantees your spot and helps our instructors prepare the space.

WHAT if im running late?

We get it, life happens! However, to maintain the flow and energy of the class, doors are locked 10 minutes after the start time. Please try to arrive a few minutes early to get settled, and show respect for your instructor and fellow students by coming in quietly, if and when you are late.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR CLASS?

An open mind!

Our studio is equipped with mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, blankets, and cold eucalyptus towels for our students’ use. Water bottles are available for purchase.

What are the parking options?

Finding parking in Downtown Glen Cove can be a bit of a challenge, especially during peak times. While there is street parking available, it tends to fill up quickly. We recommend arriving a bit early to increase your chances of finding a spot.

If street parking is not available, we encourage students to utilize the parking garage (back entrance faces the studio, across the street) or the small municipal lot adjacent, on Pulaski St.

Are your classes suitable for people with injuries or physical limitations?

Yes, our instructors are skilled at offering modifications and variations to accommodate various injuries or physical limitations. It's important to communicate with your instructor about any concerns before class starts, so they can provide the appropriate guidance and support. Above all, listen to your body (and the advice of your healthcare professionals).

Do you offer any special workshops or events?

Yes, we host special workshops and events focusing on various aspects of yoga, wellness, and personal growth. Keep an eye on our schedule and announcements for upcoming events that might pique your interest!
